Chapter XXIII - Previous Bhaishajyaraja events of the Buddha (Medicine King) Bodhisattva
At that time the ruler of the constellation Fiore asked the Buddha: Why
the Bodhisattva Medicine King come and go in this saha world?
Then the Buddha said:
Many Kalpa ago, innumerable as the sands of the Ganges, called Tathagata Buddha lived a pure and shining truth of the sun and moon. He had an entourage of eighty million Bodhisattva and listening to the voice of the sands of seventy-two Ganges. In his land there were only pure beings and the soil was wonderful, full of parks where they sat under trees jeweled and listeners of the Bodhisattva voce per sentire suoni celesti provenienti da palchi ingioiellati dove sedevano milioni di dei.

So Visto con Gioia da tutti gli esseri, preso dal dolore, decise di bruciarsi le braccia in onore del Buddha.
Quando tutti gli ascoltatori della voce e i Bodhisattva videro questo gesto si addolorarono, pensando che in questo modo Visto con Gioia da tutti gli esseri aveva perso la sua integrità fisica e non poteva più istruirli. Allora Visto con Gioia da tutti gli esseri fece questo voto: “Ho gettato via le mie braccia, sicuramente conseguirò l’aureo corpo di un Buddha. Se tutto questo è vero, possano le mie braccia tornare ad essere come prima”. E così gli apparvero di nuovo le braccia.
Bene, questo Bodhisattva non era altro che Re della medicina.
Fiore Sovrano della Costellazione, bruciarsi un dito o un piede vale più di milioni di altre offerte al Buddha, vale più che offrire il proprio regno e le città, la moglie o i figli o montagne o mari con tutti i loro tesori. Ma per ottenere meriti nulla è superiore all’accettare e sostenere questo sutra del Loto, anche se soltanto una strofa di 4 versi.
Quest’ultima cosa è la fonte massima di tutti i benefici perché questo è il più profondo e il più grande di tutti i sutra.
Questo sutra è in grado di disperdere l’oscurità di tutti i mali.
Può salvare gli esseri viventi e liberarli dalle sofferenze e dai tormenti.
Può arrecare grandi benefici ed esaudire tutti i desideri, proprio come una fresca e limpida fonte può satisfy all who are thirsty.
It's like a fire for those cold, a garment for the naked, like a caravan of merchants is a guide, a child who is the mother, a patient who is a doctor, a lamp in the darkness.
This sutra can liberate all beings from all the discomforts and disease and suffering. He may dissolve the bonds of birth and death. If a person suffers from a disease that can hear this sutra, his illness will vanish and he will know neither old age nor death.
Flower Constellation King, even those who hear this chapter on the history of the king of medicine will get unlimited and immense benefit. The Buddha
si uniranno nel lodarlo e diranno da lontano: “Bravo uomo devoto. Hai accettato questo sutra, lo reciti e mediti, e lo predichi. La fortuna che hai accumulato è incommensurabile e illimitata. Non potrà essere bruciata dal fuoco né spazzata via dall’acqua. Uomo devoto, cento, mille Buddha con i loro poteri sovrannaturali si riuniranno per proteggerti e difenderti.”
Quando il Buddha ebbe finito di predicare questo capitolo, il Buddha Molti tesori lodò Fiore sovrano della costellazione dalla torre preziosa: “Grazie, Fiore sovrano della costellazione, hai interrogato il buddha Shakyamuni su questo argomento arrecando vantaggio a un numero sconfinato di esseri viventi.”
